Bumblebee Boulevard

Weekly Update:  March 11, 2011

We have been involved in our flower project during much of the week.  Below are some of the snapshots of the great work the children have been doing throughout the week.

If you want to learn more about what exactly project work is you can visit the link below:

Bella was showing Mariah that our Tulips in housekeeping have a pistil in the middle.  We have learned new vocabulary this week in some of our books.  It is great to see the chidlren using those words.
Lakyn and Bella working to hang flower garland in our housekeeping center so that they can turn it into a flower shop.
AJ, Bella, and Lakyn told Miss Meaghan they were using teamwork to hand the garland because it was too hard to do by themselves.
Mariah was watering the floral arrangement she created to sell at the flower shop.
Some of the children decided the flower shop needed a sign becuase shops that sell things have signs.  Bella is making the F, L and O.
Lakyn continued and made the W, E , R.
AJ wrote the word shop as Miss Meaghan helped him sound it out.
Lakyn and Bella proudly hung the sign they worked on with AJ.
Even our 5th grade readers have helped the children learn about flowers.  Here Zane is reading Lakyn a book about flowers.
We are exploring the flowers with all of our senses.  Marta is smelling the Tiger Lillies that just bloomed this week.
Isaac and Eric George worked together to water our flowers so they stay alive over the weekend.
